A Fuzzy Friend

What do you do?

Q. What do you do when you can't all get together for a family picture?
A. You take individual portraits, and paste them together...!

By the way, I'm having trouble with the pictures transferring from my last blog to this one, so that is why some of them won't load.

Back in Blogger land...

I'm back!  I really don't have any excuse for not posting. I've had lots of time, but I just never sat down to do it.  We are enjoying a beautiful green and white world...it snowed! Right now it is about 4 inches, and it is still coming down. That is unusual for our area at this time.

I decided it would be fun to get pictures of my siblings in this weather, so out the door we headed.  They were laughing at me because I was wearing big red slippers over my new leather boots - I didn't want to ruin them : ) I took several different poses of each one, but here are a few of the "up-close" ones.

And I'll leave you with this shot, taken earlier this morning before there was much snow:

Amanita muscaria - Storybook mushrooms

I've always seen these mushrooms in children's books, and I like them. But it wasn't until just the other day that I saw a real one for the first time!

One morning, my sister pulled me outside, and said "you HAVE to take a picture of this!"
There were only a few at first, but over the next week there were lots of them, and they grew so big. I had so much fun capturing them with the camera.
They start off very rounded, but open up and turn out to be over 6 inches in diameter.
One of my favorite things about them is the bottom - all of those stripes!
This tiny mushroom didn't seem to fit in with the others towering over it!
God created so many wonderful things. One of them is the mushroom.

My brother

My brother doesn't care for being in the line of my camera lens, but he let me snap away as he played Racquetball. Obviously you aren't going to hire me for my (photographic) sports abilities, but I had fun. Plus, it gave me an excuse to put together a small collage.

My morning excursion found:

I've got SUNSHINE in my heart today!

Last night I was playing with sunlight through a heart that I cut in a piece of dark paper...I still had to darken the pictures in Picasa to get the effect I was looking for, but it was so fun!

The only way for the following pictures to work was to darken the shadows as much as possible (in Picasa). Doesn't it remind you of a picture of the world?

My legs were tired...

But it was worth it! This was taken on our trip to Multnomah Falls after IPS.

People.

The first picture is of a friend, the second is one I snapped really quickly of my sister (left) and a friend she was playing with. It was so cute to watch them!

A couple of days at the beach

The first day was quite rainy, but I got some fun pictures:
Here there are fishermen doing some crabbing.

The fog was really neat. Unfortunatly I wasn't able to catch all of it's glory.

The neatest buggy showed up!

The horses were beautiful.

The second day was sunshiny! We walked for about 1 hour up and down the beach.

I decided to play with highlights. I really like it!

I loved the sand and shells!

My sisters were great subjects...
...willing to climb a hill just for a few pictures.
For those of you who have gone wind sailing, this is what you look like from underneath. Just thought you'd like to know!
About to touch down! (they made it safely.)
